Phil has taught at Cardiff Sixth Form College since September 2016 and has been the Head of Humanities for the last three years. Prior to this he taught and headed a similar department in another sixth form college in Cardiff for 19 years. Economics is his passion and he has been an examiner in the past. Phil was not always a teacher and when he left University in 1986 with a degree in Economics he worked in the Banking and Financial Services industry for ten years. Phil feels that the combination of working as a teacher today and having had the benefit of experiencing the ‘real world’ has given him the opportunity to not only teach young people but to prepare them for the world beyond college. Phil is a proud Welshman and an even prouder father of four children all of whom have successful moved onto their own professional careers and higher education.
