Martin joined the College in April 2015 and was Deputy Head of Chemistry until taking over as Head of chemistry in September 2020. He has had a love of the sciences since an early age and has a background in organic chemistry and biochemistry. Martin worked as a research assistant in analytical chemistry laboratories before starting his teaching career where he has extensive experience in both the state and independent sectors. Having lived in all four corners of the UK and travelled around the globe Martin says he now works in the best city in the world.
