English Speaking Union South Wales Branch Novice Debate.
Congratulations to Maya, Siri and Rosanna on winning the novice debate, sponsored by the South Wales branch of the English Speaking Union.

10 teams participated in this event aimed at students who are in their first few months of debating. They won through the first round opposing the motion; This House believes physician assisted suicide should be allowed, to go to the semi-finals held at Cardiff Sixth Form College. Here they proposed the motion: This House Would Abolish the House of Lords. Winning through again to the finals where they debated abolishing zoos against very worthy opponents, Christ College Brecon.
20 Students participate in Warwick University’s Schools debate.
10 Teams from Cardiff Sixth Form College participated in Warwick University’s Schools Debate which was held online. Here they had the opportunity to debate against students from UK Schools such as Eton and Westminster as well as Interntional schools based in India, Indonesia, Thailand, Ukraine and Denmark.
Well done to Yuxuan and Colman who achieved a place in the Silver finals, coming 8th overall in the competition.
Also, congratulations to Siri and Rosanna who achieved a place in the Novice Finals, achieving 15th place out of 53 teams entered.
A very successful day in which all teams progressed in their debating skills.
